Case Study #6: Resort Check-In Package
With the large number of owners accommodated at Bluegreen’s resorts on a daily basis, we initiated the “green” design and production of one of the most frequently used collateral items: the check-in packet. FSC-Certified stock for the folder, resort-specific inserts, parking pass and comment card, in addition to fully recycled and recyclable PVC for the key cards, made each component of the check-in package represents the company’s commitment to the conservation and reuse of critical resources.
A new look for the Bluegreen brand has recently been implemented, so a clean look and feel was applied to each component of the “green” check-in folder to coincide with this new standard. The redesign of the resort-specific inserts, also on FSC stock, provided the opportunity to also simplify property maps, use proprietary professional photography, and include copy to describe each property. The “green” resort check-in folder was designed to utilize eco-friendly materials; however, it also offered the ability to more clearly communicate the Bluegreen brand.
The fully recycled PVC material used for the key cards is also recyclable, meaning employees can send unusable cards back to the supplier for recycling.On the back of the folder, the FSC-Certified mark is prominently displayed to stress our use of paper derived from “responsibly harvested forests that meet strict socioeconomic standards.”
This “green” collateral piece not only highlights Bluegreen’s passion for social responsibility, and featured a surprising cost-effectiveness. A 40% reduction in the unit cost for all components of the check-in folder illustrates how eco-friendly materials and methods are not just beneficial to the environment, but to business as a whole.
